when you are comparing yourself to your enemy. But what if your enemy is just a perceived opponent? What if they never even thought once about you? If that is true, then you are only proving to yourself that the only enemy present is the one within. We spend so much time building armor to survive people who have already moved on, running a race against ghosts just to prove we are worthy. The moment you realize the opponent isn’t looking back is the moment the illusion breaks. The war is over, the field is empty, and the only person left to fight and finally forgive is yourself.
